The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with a money laundering case. The arrest came after the Delhi High Court declined to grant interim relief, refusing his application for “no coercive action” by the ED in an excise policy case. Kejriwal’s arrest followed his attempt to challenge the ED’s summons and certain provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). AAP leaders criticized the move, alleging it aimed to prevent Kejriwal from seeking relief in the Supreme Court following the high court’s decision.
