In Armoor town of Nizamabad district, the Nizamsagar Project faced a breach in its main canal, resulting in water flowing into residential areas early Monday morning. Residents of the journalists’ colony, situated adjacent to the canal, were forced to evacuate their homes around 3 am as water inundated the area, causing panic. The breach also led to the disruption of power supply as electricity poles collapsed due to soil erosion caused by the canal water. Local authorities have ceased water release and initiated restoration efforts, highlighting the urgency of canal maintenance.
