Election squad officials in Bengaluru seized ₹2.01 crore in cash in Chamarajapet, stating it belonged to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The cash, intercepted from a car, was reportedly meant for distribution to BJP booth workers in various districts. A case has been registered, naming the BJP city office secretary as Accused No. 1. The complainant highlighted that transporting such a large sum of cash violated Election Commission norms and informed the Income Tax Department, which declined to seize the money.
