The collapse of Bihar’s largest Bakaur bridge over the Kosi river in Supaul district resulted in one fatality and nine injuries. The 10.2 km bridge, a significant project under the Bharat Mala Project, faced a tragic setback as an under-construction span gave way. District Magistrate Kaushal Kumar confirmed the incident, with one casualty and nine minor injuries reported. Bridge experts have been called to assess the cause, while NHAI officials are on-site for immediate action. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha expressed condolences and assured a thorough investigation into the incident, vowing strict action against any negligence or corruption.
