In response to internal dissent within the ruling Congress in Karnataka over the potential candidature of Chikka Peddanna, son-in-law of Minister K.H. Muniyappa, for the Kolar (SC) Lok Sabha seat, KPCC chief and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar emphasized party cohesion. Shivakumar stated that no leader supersedes the Congress, stressing collective efforts for victory in Kolar. The Congress is yet to declare its candidate for the Kolar constituency amidst growing tensions within the party over the selection process.
