Engineers in Maryland are diligently tackling the complex task of removing the wreckage of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge from the Patapsco River. The bridge gave way earlier in the week after a cargo ship collision. Teams were observed on March 30 engaged in cutting and lifting the first section of twisted steel, with sparks flying as workers used cutting torches to sever thick beams. The operation, managed by a joint incident command, focused on the north side of the collapsed structure.
