Authorities are moving forward with plans for the Sabarimala Greenfield International Airport, preparing for a public hearing on the draft Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report. Led by the Kottayam District Collector at Erumely, the hearing will enable public input on environmental concerns, overseen by the State Pollution Control Board. Following this, findings will be submitted to the Union Ministry of Environment and Forest for further review. The comprehensive EIA study, conducted by Louis Berger Consultancy Private Limited, covers environmental impacts during construction and operation, emphasizing measures to minimize land clearing and preserve green cover.
