The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced Udayanraje Bhosale, a Maratha royal and descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji, as its candidate for the Satara Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. Bhosale, who had previously won the seat three times on an NCP ticket, has been actively seeking a BJP ticket for the constituency. Additionally, the BJP named seven more candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, bringing the total number of candidates announced to around 430 out of 543 seats. The elections are scheduled to begin on April 19.
