Ultratech Cement has acquired a grinding unit from India Cements in Parli, Maharashtra, for Rs 315 crore. With a capacity of 1.1 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and a captive railway siding, the acquisition aims to bolster Ultratech’s presence in Maharashtra’s burgeoning markets. The move aligns with Ultratech’s broader expansion plans, including a Rs 32,400 crore investment over three years to increase cement manufacturing capacity to nearly 200 mtpa. Additionally, Ultratech recently completed a 100 MW solar energy project in Rajasthan and received NCLT approval for the amalgamation of UltraTech Nathdwara Cement and its subsidiaries.
