The recent untimely rain and hailstorms across various regions of Telangana have resulted in damage to paddy, maize, and horticultural crops spanning approximately 2,200 acres. Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao has instructed authorities to assess the losses incurred by farmers meticulously. The affected districts include Narayanpet, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Nagarkurnool, Siddipet, and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri. With the possibility of further rainfall in the coming days, preventive measures are being emphasized. District Collectors are coordinating efforts to safeguard harvested paddy in market yards and purchase centers, with over 2 lakh tarpaulin covers distributed for protection.
