North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is expected to travel to Russia soon to meet with President Vladimir Putin as the Kremlin attempts to acquire military equipment for use in its war in Ukraine. The U.S. anticipates that the meeting will take place within the month, with Vladivostok being a likely location due to its proximity to North Korea. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu recently visited Pyongyang to negotiate arms deals, prompting the U.S. to urge North Korea to cease such negotiations and abide by its public commitments regarding arms sales. Joint war games between the two countries are also being considered.
