Former Commonwealth Games gold medalist Narsingh Pancham Yadav was elected chairman of the Athletes’ Commission of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). The election took place during the ongoing Federation Cup in Varanasi, fulfilling a condition set by the United World Wrestling (UWW) for revoking WFI’s suspension. Eight candidates vied for seven commission seats, with Narsingh chosen as chairman. The elected members, including Nikki as the convener, will serve for two years. Narsingh, known for his 2016 Rio Olympics controversy, aims to advocate for athletes’ interests.
