The Union government releases ₹3,730.32 crore from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, responding to their pleas made to the Supreme Court regarding Cyclone Michaung, floods, and drought in 2023. Karnataka receives ₹3,454.22 crore for drought relief, while Tamil Nadu gets ₹115.49 crore for Cyclone Michaung and ₹160.61 crore for floods. Additionally, ₹44.60 crore for Karnataka and ₹406.57 crore for Tamil Nadu are allocated from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
