Tesla is relocating executive Tom Zhu to China, where he previously led the company’s entry into the market. Zhu, now senior vice president of automotive, previously oversaw global operations from Tesla’s Austin headquarters. The move follows a decline in Tesla’s market share in China, evidenced by an 18% drop in deliveries from its Shanghai factory in April. Despite this, the overall new-energy passenger vehicle market in China saw a 33% increase in sales compared to the previous year. Tesla representatives have yet to comment on Zhu’s relocation.
