The Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) has urged the state government to cancel the licenses of hotels and beauty parlours involved in trafficking minor girls. This comes after the rescue of five girls from a sex trafficking racket operating through a beauty parlour and hotels in Itanagar. The APWWS proposes stringent measures such as mandatory identity card checks for hotel guests and daily guest entry logs for scrutiny. They also advocate for verification of parlour licenses and strengthening security measures in the region to prevent further exploitation.
