Radhakrishna Doddamani of the Congress defeated incumbent BJP MP Umesh Jadhav in the Kalaburagi Lok Sabha Constituency by 27,205 votes. This victory is seen as avenging Congress veteran M. Mallikarjun Kharge’s defeat in 2019. Kharge’s son-in-law, Doddamani, contested against Jadhav, who had defeated Kharge in the previous election. While Kharge emphasized avenging his defeat, his son Priyank Kharge focused on development initiatives. The Congress highlighted local development projects, while the BJP relied on national issues like the Ram Mandir and Article 370.
