Following Trinamool Congress’ sweeping victory in West Bengal, incidents of post-poll violence surfaced across several districts. Clashes between TMC and BJP supporters escalated, with reports of vandalism and attacks on party workers’ homes. In Natabari, Cooch Behar, a BJP supporter allegedly assaulted a TMC worker with a gun, while in Madhyamgram, North 24 Parganas, houses of BJP supporters were vandalized. Similar violence erupted in Bhatpara and Sandeshkhali, prompting BJP supporters to seek refuge. Even Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers were targeted in some areas.
