JSW Energy has initiated the construction of a 1 GWh battery energy storage system project in Fatehgarh, Rajasthan, secured from Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI). The project, comprising two installations with 500 MWh storage capacity each, will operate under a Build Own Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model, transferring to the offtaker after 12 years. Expected to be commissioned by June 2025, the project aims to enhance grid stability and integrate renewable energy sources. Additionally, JSW Energy has entered a Memorandum of Understanding with JSW Steel Ltd to supply green hydrogen and oxygen annually, aiming for significant progress by 2030.
