M. Selvakumar, owner of the Tamil Nadu Premier League’s Salem Spartans, reported being scammed out of over ₹6 crore while attempting to buy shares in a Caribbean Premier League team. The complaint led to an FIR against cricketers Robin Bist and Akash Sumra, who allegedly introduced Selvakumar to Satish Kumar and Nitin Khokhar, claiming they owned shares in the CPL team. Selvakumar paid ₹6.10 crore but later realized he was duped and faced threats when demanding a refund. Despite initially buying Bist again for the current season, Selvakumar plans to release him. The case is under trial, with some accused already arrested and presented in court.
