Trinamool Congress has named candidates for four West Bengal Assembly seats’ byelections on July 10. The seats include Maniktala in Kolkata and others vacated due to MLAs contesting Lok Sabha polls. Krishna Kalyani and Mukut Mani Adhikari, who switched from BJP to Trinamool, will contest from Raiganj and Ranaghat-Dakshin respectively. Madhuparna Takur is nominated for Bagda, a Matua-dominated constituency. Supti Pandey, widow of late MLA Sadhan Pandey, will contest from Maniktala. The byelections will test Trinamool and BJP’s post-Lok Sabha strength, especially the defections of Kalyani and Adhikari.
