The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has rejected all eight candidates interviewed for the chairman and managing director position at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL). This marks the third consecutive year the board has not found a suitable candidate for a state oil firm. Candidates included a current HPCL director and the managing director of Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL). The PESB has advised the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas to explore further selection methods.
