The United Democratic Front (UDF) Opposition in Kerala’s Assembly walked out in protest against the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) and the government due to ongoing crude bomb violence in Kannur, which recently claimed the life of an 86-year-old man. Congress legislator Sunny Joseph criticized the CPI(M) for glorifying bomb-makers and obstructing police investigations into bomb-related deaths. Opposition leader V. D. Satheesan accused the CPI(M) of inciting violence primarily against opposition activists. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan denied the allegations, asserting efforts to maintain peace.
