To bolster India’s e-commerce exports, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and the Department of Revenue are collaborating to establish dedicated e-commerce hubs nationwide. Currently at $2 billion, India’s e-commerce exports pale in comparison to China’s $350 billion. The initiative aims to bridge this gap by creating streamlined processes, including dedicated customs and security checks at these hubs. Managed by private entities under government oversight, these hubs will expedite clearances and offer ancillary services like warehousing and returns processing.
