A second-year Computer Science student from Panagarh, West Bengal, has been arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) for alleged ties to a Bangladesh-based terror outfit. The student, Md Habibullah, is linked to the terror module ‘Shahadat’, which is connected to the banned group Ansar Al Islam, affiliated with Al Qaeda. Arrested on Saturday, Habibullah was remanded to 14 days of police custody. He faces charges under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. Authorities have seized his laptop, mobile phone, and documents.
