On June 25, 2024, India commenced its 10th spectrum auction, featuring ₹96,238 crore worth of airwaves to enhance 5G services. Major telecom firms, including Airtel and Reliance Jio, are participating. This auction, managed by the Department of Telecommunications, follows the August 2022 auction which introduced 5G spectrum. The bands up for bidding include 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2500 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz. Reliance Jio leads with a ₹3,000 crore earnest money deposit, indicating its intent to secure significant spectrum portions.
