Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom provider, has announced a tariff hike of up to 27% on its mobile service plans, effective from July 3, 2024. This marks the first increase in prices in two and a half years, aiming to support industry innovation and investment in technologies like 5G and AI. The revised plans include increases across various offerings, such as the popular Rs 666 plan now priced at Rs 799, and annual recharge plans rising by 20-21%. Jio emphasizes that all plans above 2GB per day will offer unlimited 5G data, reflecting India’s leading position in 5G deployment with a significant share held by Jio.
