Rebel members of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) demanded the ouster of party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. On Monday, senior leaders, including Prem Singh Chandumajra and Bibi Jagir Kaur, apologized at the Akal Takht for mistakes that hurt the Sikh community. They sought forgiveness for actions such as pardoning Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in a 2007 blasphemy case, failing to punish those involved in the 2015 sacrilege at Bargari, and appointing Sumedh Saini as the State’s DGP. Despite calls for leadership change, SAD’s women’s wing and the working committee expressed full support for Badal, praising his leadership.
