Lakshmi N Mittal, Executive Chairman of ArcelorMittal, expressed confidence that the Hazira expansion project by AMNS India will be commissioned by 2026. Last October, AMNS India announced a Rs 60,000 crore investment to elevate the steel plant’s capacity in Hazira to 15 million tonnes. Mittal stated that the expansion project is progressing rapidly, with over 20,000 people involved in construction. The aim is to double production capacity in the first phase, then triple it, producing advanced products for technology to enhance self-reliance and reduce imports. Mittal emphasized the commitment to sustainability and praised Gujarat as a leading industry state with diverse sectors.
