India’s Vizhinjam transshipment container port, inaugurated on October 15, will enhance the country’s position in international maritime trade and further its goal of becoming an alternative manufacturing hub. The port’s proximity to major shipping routes and its deep natural channel make it suitable for handling the world’s largest container ships. Developed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone in collaboration with the Kerala state government, this strategic addition to India’s infrastructure will not only reduce logistics costs but also solidify Gautam Adani’s position as India’s infrastructure magnate. Adani Ports, already India’s largest private sector port operator, is expanding its global presence, including projects in Israel and Vietnam.
