A metadata analysis conducted by a cybersecurity expert revealed that the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) issued two backdated circulars. One circular extended the Dasara vacations, but its creation date was after the intended end date. Student protests began when they demanded the formation of a committee to address sexual harassment. They alleged that circulars were backdated, and metadata analysis confirmed this. On top of this, a student was molested, and the university’s response angered protesters. The lack of a redress mechanism led students to share evidence of misconduct by professors. The university’s vice-chancellor claims everything is in order.
