Telecom provider Bharti Airtel saw a 37.5% year-on-year decline in its consolidated net profit for the July-September quarter, which stood at Rs 1,341 crore due to one-time licence fee payments. In the same period the previous year, the net profit was Rs 2,145 crore. However, consolidated net income (before exceptional items) increased by 44.2% YoY to Rs 2,960 crore, and the EBITDA margin was 53.1%, up 176 basis points YoY. Airtel’s India revenues for the quarter grew by 10.9% YoY to Rs 26,995 crore, driven by a strong 11% YoY growth in mobile revenues. The company also increased its Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) to Rs 203, the highest among telecom operators in India.
