X, previously known as Twitter, is set to launch a significant update to its recommendation algorithm, announced by owner Elon Musk. This update aims to surface content from smaller accounts on users’ feeds, diversifying the ‘For You’ feed beyond popular and trending posts. The move is part of X’s ongoing enhancements, which include support for long-form posts, extended character limits, increased video content duration, and an ad revenue-sharing program. Elon Musk also introduced Grok, an artificial intelligence bot designed to challenge platforms like ChatGPT, currently in testing with a limited group of US users.
