Assam Transport Minister Parimal Suklabaidya has initiated a 30-day motorcycle tour covering all 126 Assembly constituencies in the state to promote road safety. The campaign, called “Path Suraksha Jan Andolan,” aims to address the alarming increase in road accidents in Assam. Suklabaidya, emphasizing the need for mass awareness, cited causes such as riding without helmets, over-speeding, rash driving, and mobile phone usage while driving. The minister aims to transform the initiative into a widespread movement and dismisses speculation linking the road safety campaign to the 2024 Lok Sabha election, asserting its primary focus on saving lives.
