The State Bank of India (SBI) is set to sign a $165 million Line of Credit (LoC) with the World Bank to support grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic projects in residential and institutional sectors. This move aligns with SBI’s commitment to make rooftop solar installations mandatory for residential projects funded by the bank’s climate action funds. The bank aims to encourage green initiatives, including funding for green buildings, battery recycling, and solar rooftop plans. The recent LoC signings with international institutions reflect SBI’s focus on promoting climate action projects and renewable energy in India.
