The Bengaluru City Civil Court has referred Wipro’s lawsuit against former CFO Jatin Dalal to arbitration. Wipro filed the suit in November, seeking Rs 25.15 crore in damages and 18% interest from Dalal for allegedly violating a non-compete clause in his employment contract. The clause restricts Dalal from joining a rival within one year of leaving Wipro, and failure to comply would result in compensation equivalent to the value of his Restricted Stock Units (RSU) or the sum of his total remuneration in the previous 12 months. Dalal joined Cognizant in December after resigning from Wipro in September.
