Manoj Jarange-Patil, a pro-Maratha quota activist, criticized Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar for not questioning the state government’s delay in granting reservations to the Maratha community. During his 400 km march to Mumbai, Jarange-Patil warned of “serious consequences” if the government used force against their rallies, asserting their agitation’s democratic nature. Upon reaching Mumbai, he plans to undertake an indefinite fast until the government issues a reservation order. Despite Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s announcement of a survey by the State Commission for Backward Classes, Jarange-Patil remains adamant, emphasizing the need for the government to address Maratha community concerns.
