Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO and Finnish tech company Nokia have signed a global patent cross-license agreement, resolving their long-standing dispute over 5G patent portfolios. The agreement covers standard-essential patents in 5G and other cellular communication technologies. OPPO and Nokia will also resolve all pending litigation in various jurisdictions. The Chief Intellectual Property Officer at OPPO, Feng Ying, emphasized mutual recognition and respect for intellectual property, laying the foundation for future collaboration. The agreement is expected to provide long-term financial stability to Nokia’s licensing business.
