Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL), India’s leading CNG retailer, has recorded a 41% increase in its net profit for the third quarter of the current fiscal year. The company’s net profit rose to Rs 392.07 crore compared to Rs 278.26 crore in the same period the previous year. IGL attributes the growth to higher sales of CNG to automobiles and piped cooking gas to households and industries. The company operates city gas distribution networks across 30 districts in four states and reported an overall sales volume growth of 4% over the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal year.
