SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk, is facing a negligence lawsuit filed by the wife of a worker injured during a 2022 rocket engine malfunction. The incident involved a Raptor V2 engine at SpaceX’s facility in Hawthorne, California, resulting in Francisco Cabada’s skull fracture. The lawsuit, filed by Ydy Cabada, alleges negligence in rushing engine development, inadequate training, and unresolved flaws in the part that caused the injury. The case comes after a Reuters investigation detailed over 600 unreported workplace injuries at SpaceX. Cabada remains in a coma over two years after the incident. SpaceX has not commented on the lawsuit.
