Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL) and Sony Group are reportedly in discussions to potentially revive the $10 billion merger that Sony had terminated on January 22. The two companies have engaged in meetings over the past 15 days in Mumbai. The report suggests that Punit Goenka, the Managing Director and CEO of ZEEL, has agreed to Sony’s demand that he does not become the CEO of the merged entity. Sony has maintained that Goenka could, at best, be an adviser to the combined entity. Zee is expected to inform Sony of its decision on the terms and conditions in the next 24 to 48 hours.
