The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has concluded seat-sharing discussions with the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The DMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu has allocated two seats to each Left party, with the specific constituencies yet to be determined. Agreements were signed between DMK President M.K. Stalin and CPI State Secretary R. Mutharasan, as well as between Stalin and CPI-M State Secretary K. Balakrishnan. In the 2019 general elections, the CPI and CPI(M) contested from two seats each as part of the DMK-led alliance.
