The Election Commission of India (ECI) convened a comprehensive meeting in New Delhi for the deployment of over 1,800 observers for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. These observers, comprising police, general, and expenditure personnel from various civil services, serve as the watchdogs of the electoral process in poll-bound areas. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar is expected to address the gathering, emphasizing the critical role of these observers. Concurrently, the ECI will conduct its final visit to Jammu and Kashmir on March 12 to assess the feasibility of holding elections in the Union Territory, signaling the imminent announcement of poll dates.
