Equity benchmark indices fell in early trading on Friday due to weak global market trends and foreign fund outflows. The BSE Sensex dropped 314.56 points to 72,782.72, while the NSE Nifty declined 101.65 points to 22,045. Major laggards included Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys, Axis Bank, HCL Technologies, NTPC, and Asian Paints. Bharti Airtel, Power Grid, State Bank of India, and IndusInd Bank were among the gainers. Concerns over Brent crude rising to $85 and the 10-year US bond yield spiking to 4.29% are impacting the market. FIIs sold equities worth Rs 1,356.29 crore on Thursday. In Asian markets, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong traded lower. Brent crude dipped to USD 85.27 a barrel.
