Switzerland and Norway are poised to lead in the $100 billion trade pact recently inked between India and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), comprising Iceland and Liechtenstein. According to Norwegian Ambassador May-Elin Stener, Switzerland is expected to contribute over half of the pact’s value, with Norway accounting for the remainder. The agreement aims to generate a million jobs and attract investments in key sectors like pharma and minerals. Stener highlights Norway’s keen interest in India, with existing bilateral collaborations set to expand under the new pact, particularly in areas like fisheries, maritime, and green technologies.
