The AIADMK’s hopes of a comeback in the Lok Sabha elections were dashed yet again as it failed to secure a single seat, including losing the lone seat it held previously. Despite finishing runner-up in 24 constituencies, and its ally DMDK in three, the party couldn’t secure victory. However, party members find solace in their vote share, with the AIADMK obtaining about 20.47% and the DMDK 2.61%. Former Revenue Minister R.B. Udhayakumar deemed the performance superior to 2019, despite lacking strong alliances. The possibility of reunification with the Panneerselvam camp remains uncertain, emphasizing the leadership’s openness to welcoming returnees.
