AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticized the reported decision of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDATN) to impose fees on government school students for summer coaching camps starting April 29. Palaniswami highlighted that the previous AIADMK government had organized such camps without fees, benefiting thousands of students. He accused the DMK government, particularly Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, of hindering students’ access to sports by introducing fees. Palaniswami urged the government to revoke the fee collection, questioning its commitment to promoting sports while touting achievements like hosting the International Chess Olympiad and planning sports stadia in every district.
