Airbus plans to extend its collaboration with Tata Advanced Systems to enhance India’s defence supply chain and develop new products aligned with the country’s defence needs. The partnership will involve investments in capabilities such as raw material acquisition, manufacturing detailed parts, and establishing sub-assembly and assembly facilities. The initial focus will be on metallic and composite manufacturing technologies, with an emphasis on electric harnesses to bolster India’s supply chain. The collaboration aims to address the demand for military transport aircraft, with the first India-manufactured C295 expected in 2026. This aligns with India’s efforts to establish a robust domestic defence supply chain, encouraging global defence companies to invest and manufacture in the country.
