India’s newest airline, Akasa Air, has entered into a strategic partnership with the upcoming Noida International Airport (NIA). Akasa Air will base its aircraft at the airport to operate domestic and international flights. The agreement comes after Akasa Air placed a firm order for 150 Boeing 737 Max aircraft. NIA, located in Jewar (Uttar Pradesh), is expected to start operations before the end of 2024 and aims to strengthen air connectivity in the Delhi NCR region and Western Uttar Pradesh. IndiGo had previously signed an agreement with NIA in November 2023 to become its launch carrier.
