Amazon has announced Q, its generative artificial intelligence-powered business chatbot, in response to the popularity of rivals’ offerings like ChatGPT. Launched at an AWS conference in Las Vegas, Q aims to synthesize content, enhance daily communications, and assist with tasks such as blog post generation. Companies can tailor Q by connecting it to their data and systems for a more personalized experience. While Amazon dominates cloud computing, it faces competition in AI research. The recent Stanford University index ranked Amazon’s transparency in AI models at the bottom. In a separate move, Amazon invested up to $4 billion in Anthropic, a San Francisco-based AI startup.
