On March 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated development projects worth ₹15,000 crore in West Bengal’s Krishnanagar, Nadia district. These initiatives, spanning railways, ports, and power, aim to catalyze economic growth and job creation in the region. Emphasizing West Bengal’s role as India’s “eastern gate” for development, Modi highlighted infrastructure development efforts across roadways, railways, waterways, and airways. Projects include the foundation stone laying of Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase II, the inauguration of the FGD system at Mejia Thermal Power Station, and the Farakka-Raiganj NH-12 section’s four-laning. Additionally, four rail projects were dedicated to enhancing connectivity and modernizing West Bengal’s rail infrastructure.
